Some more Summer paintings
Painting outdoors is such a charge of adrenaline you completely lose youself in the moment, being there and painting directly from nature and finding the right colours gives the work a sense of real light and coupled with urgent and thought out mark making and application of paint. Sometimes they work and if they don't I will paint over them thereby taking control of what is released.
I do go back to the same locations lots of times as I find that helps me really get into the feel of a place. I am never thinking about what will sell or what people might like I am following my heart by painting what I want to paint.
