Holiday details
Our residential courses run for six days from Sunday to Friday. This includes 5 nights accommodation and four days painting.
Arrival takes place on the Sunday afternoon. You’ll be welcomed with drinks and refreshments, and have time to settle into your room before our evening meal.
Monday to Thursday are our tutored painting days. Each day starts with a lovely breakfast: you can choose a hearty full English, or something lighter if preferred.
We aim to start travelling to location by 9/9.30am each day. If the weather’s bad we would start painting in our beautiful studio space which benefits from lots of natural light. We will be working with pure oil paint, a palette knife and a brush if required.
The painting day consists of a fully tutored morning and afternoon session, complete with demos and individual guidance, plus lunch of course. We aim for you to paint one picture in the morning and another in the afternoon each day. Each day will end with an evening meal and drinks, and the chance to socialise or relax as you wish.
After a nice breakfast on Friday morning we will have a group crit, and I will be pointing you in the directions that will be most helpful to your work. This is constructive help and not a competition - we want you to get the maximum out of this course as possible!
Before you head home we’ll get your paintings ready for transport, using our ingenious method that takes up minimum space while preventing stains and rubs.
